Virginia High School Basketball - The Covenant ripped by Eastern Mennonite

January 24, 2024: Harrisonburg, VA 22802

The Eastern Mennonite Flames basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting The Covenant Eagles to 38 in the Flames league triumph on Wednesday.

The Flames now sport a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rockbridge County for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Eastern Mennonite will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 67-60 non-league loss to Salem (Salem, VA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-16.

The Eagles (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Carlisle (Axton, VA). The Chiefs enter the VISAA Division IV contest with a 16-8 record. In their last contest, Carlisle triumphed over Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA), 81-72, in a league contest.
