The Van Wert Cougars basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Elida Bulldogs to 53 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crestview for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 18.

The Bulldogs (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Jefferson (Delphos, OH). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Jefferson nudged Columbus Grove (Columbus Grove, OH), 58-43, in a league contest.
