North Carolina High School Basketball - Weddington nips Porter Ridge

February 11, 2025: Matthews, NC 28104

In Tuesday's league contest, the host Weddington Warriors basketball team scored a close 61-60 win over the Porter Ridge Pirates.

The Warriors (15-7) will now prepare for their contest against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks come into the 4A Southern Carolina contest with a 18-5 record. In their last contest, Marvin Ridge edged Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC), 88-45, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers (Rock Hill, SC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, February 12. Porter Ridge will attempt to better on its 16-6 season record. The Lancers come into the contest with a 21-13 record after their 60-54 non-league win over Butler (Matthews, NC).
