North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe overwhelms Union Academy

February 12, 2025: Monroe, NC 28112

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 68 points and limited the visiting Union Academy Cardinals to 35 in the Redhawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Redhawks now possess a 12-2 record. They play next when they host Forest Hills for a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, February 14. Monroe will confront a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 74-48 league loss to Anson (Wadesboro, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 11-12.

With the loss, Union Academy falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Albemarle (Albemarle, NC) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley game on Monday, February 17. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 2-20. Albemarle lost 86-52 in their recent league game against North Stanly (New London, NC)
