The Union Academy Cardinals basketball squad (Monroe, NC), was outscored 53-45 in Monday's non-league battle with the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC)

With the victory, Piedmont advances its record to 3-6 on the year. The Panthers host Anson (Wadesboro, NC) to play the Bearcats in a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, December 20. The Bearcats go into the game with a record of 6-1.
