The Central Academy Cougars basketball squad (Monroe, NC), was crushed 87-40 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC)

With the victory, Piedmont advances its record to 8-13 on the year. The Panthers travel to Anson (Wadesboro, NC) to meet the Bearcats in a 2A/3A Rocky River battle on Thursday, February 6. The Bearcats enter the battle with a record of 13-7. Anson lost 57-42 in their recent league battle against Monroe (Monroe, NC)

The Cougars now own a 1-19 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forest Hills for a 2A/3A Rocky River battle on Friday, February 7.
