Indiana High School Basketball - Hammond nips Lake Central

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Hammond Wolves (Hammond, IN) and the visiting Lake Central Indians (St. John, IN), saw Hammond's basketball squad hold off Lake Central by a tally of 54-49.

With the victory, Hammond improves its record to 19-1 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Andrean (Merrillville, IN) to play the Fighting 59ers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 21. The Fighting 59ers come into the challenge with a record of 6-13.

Next up, the Indians play the Crown Point Bulldogs (Crown Point, IN) in a Duneland challenge, on Friday, February 17. Lake Central will attempt to improve on its 14-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 11-9 record after their 78-73 league loss to Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN).
