Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Redfield Pheasants (Redfield, SD), 73-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwestern Area upgrades its record to 14-5 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Hitchcock-Tulare (Hitchcock, SD) to play the Patriots in a B Region 1 bout on Friday, February 24. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 10-8.

Next up, the Pheasants play the Tiospa Zina Wambdi (Agency Village, SD) in a A Region 1 bout, on Friday, February 17. Redfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record.
