In Friday's league test, the Maize Eagles (Maize, KS) basketball squad trounced the host Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS), by a score of 86-64.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I test, on Tuesday, February 18. Maize will attempt to improve on its 12-5 season record. The Panthers come into the test with a 16-1 record after their 67-63 league loss to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS).
