Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL), 38-32 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Clifton Central upgrades its record to 19-11 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) to play the Fightin' Irish in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 21. The Fightin' Irish come into the bout with a record of 19-8. Bishop McNamara won 60-41 in their recent non-league bout against Marquette (Ottawa, IL)
