The Clare Pioneers (Clare, MI) basketball edged the visiting Shepherd Bluejays (Shepherd, MI), 44-40 in Thursday's league bout.

The Pioneers now possess a 11-11 record. They play next when they travel to Chippewa Hills for a non-league bout on Monday, February 24. Clare will play a Warriors team coming off a 52-40 league loss to Newaygo (Newaygo, MI). The Warriors record now stands at 6-16.
