Indiana High School Basketball - Pendleton Heights nudges Richmond
February 28, 2023: Pendleton, IN 46064 In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Pendleton Heights Arabians (Pendleton, IN) basketball squad edged the visiting Richmond Red Devils (Richmond, IN), by a count of 62-58.
The Arabians (8-16) will now prepare for their outing against New Palestine (New Palestine, IN). The Dragons go into the non-league outing with a 21-2 record. In their last outing, New Palestine held off Greenwood (Greenwood, IN), 61-31, in a non-league outing.
The Red Devils now hold a 16-7 record.
Fourth Quarter
When you are playing a North Central team that has 16 wins against 6 losses, you better be prepared to work hard. That was the case as the Arabians maintained their cool under extreme pressure to outlast the Red Devils. The coaches had the players well prepared and they executed masterfully to extend the Arabian season. Richmond managed to score 24 of their points off Arabian turnovers but when push came to shove, the players played a great game. Our leading scorer was Josiah Gustin with game high honors of 24 points. He pulled down 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. He was followed by Evan Mozingo with 14 points with 12 of them coming beyond the three point line. Next up was Caden Sims with 9 points, Dontrez Braxton with 7, Isaac Wilson and Aaron Cookston each scoring 4. Round two will be this Friday at 6:00 as the Arabians will get back at New Palestine.
