The South Mecklenburg Sabres softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Berry Cardinals to 1 in the Sabres league win on Thursday.

The Sabres now sport a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mallard Creek for a non-league battle on Friday, March 7. South Mecklenburg will confront a Mavericks team coming off a 20-4 non-league loss to Independence (Charlotte, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Berry moves to 1-4 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC) to confront the Greenwave in a non-league battle on Monday, March 10. The Greenwave come into the battle with a record of 1-3. Ashbrook lost 14-13 in their recent non-league battle against North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC)
