In Thursday's league match, the host South Mecklenburg Sabres softball team scored a nice 9-1 win over the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves.

The Sabres (7-5) will now prepare for their match against Myers Park (Charlotte, NC). The Mustangs come into the So Meck 4A match with a 5-4 record. In their last match, Myers Park notched a victory over Butler (Matthews, NC), 6-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Wolves battle the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) in a non-league match, on Monday, March 24. Ballantyne Ridge will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Vikings come into the match with a 3-3 record after their 15-1 league win over West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC).
