Indiana High School Softball - Jimtown Bremen
April 24, 2024: Elkhart, IN 46517 The Bremen Lions softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Jimtown Jimmies to 11 in the Lions league triumph on Wednesday.
With the triumph, Bremen moves its record to 7-4 on the year. The Lions travel to Triton (Bourbon, IN) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league game on Thursday, April 25. The Trojans come into the game with a record of 4-6. Triton won 25-1 in their recent league game against LaVille (Lakeville, IN)
In their next game, the Jimmies clash with the Rochester Zebras (Rochester, IN) in a non-league game, on Saturday, April 27. Jimtown will attempt to move on its 8-3 season record.
Game Summary
The Bremen girls softball team traveled to Baugo on Wednesday & came away with a hard fought 15-11 win.
Bremen scored a run in the first when Delainey Neher singled in Mickie Shively who doubled.
The Lions added 4 runs in the top of the 2nd when Shively hit a grand slam scoring Peyton Mason, Isabella Calentine, and Eliana Grubbs.
Jimtown hit four home runs & three doubles and a single scoring 8 runs on 8 hits in the bottom of the 4th to take an 8-5 lead.
The Lions responded with two runs in the top of the 5th when Mason doubled home Neher & Avery Wildauer cutting the lead to 8-7.
Jimtown added a single run in the bottom of the 5th to take a 9-7 lead.
The Lions had their own 8 run inning in the 6th, with the big hit of the 6-hit atttack by Calentine launching a double over the centerfielder's head scoring Wildauer & courtesy runner Makenzie Shumaker for Mason.
Trailing 15-9, Jimtown did not quit as they scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th to cut the lead to 15-11
