New Mexico High School Softball - Thoreau bounces Wingate
May 7, 2024: Fort Wingate, NM 87316 Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 26-16 in a league challenge.
The Hawks now own a 5-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wingate for a 3A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, May 7. Thoreau will battle a Bears squad coming off a 15-5 league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Bears record now stands at 10-11.
With the loss, Wingate falls to 11-12 on the campaign. The Bears host Thoreau (Thoreau, NM) to battle the Hawks in a 3A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 4-13. Thoreau lost 21-2 in their recent league challenge against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
