April 16, 2024: Thoreau, NM 87323 Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), 14-11 in a league challenge.
The Skyhawks now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Northwest for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. Newcomb will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 24-3 non-league loss to Red Mesa (Teec Nos Pos, AZ). The Falcons record now stands at 0-7.
With the loss, Thoreau falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Sandia Prep (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Sundevils in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. The Sundevils enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Sandia Prep won 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against To'hajiilee (To'hajiilee, NM)
