Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Porter Ridge improves its record to 4-4 on the season. The Pirates host Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A test on Tuesday, August 26. The Cavaliers go into the test with a record of 7-2. Cuthbertson lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Cox Mill (Concord, NC)

Next, the Mavericks meet the Ridge View Blazers (Columbia, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 26. Mallard Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record.
