The crowd at Friday's league contest between the North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA) and the visiting Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels (Houtzdale, PA), observed North Star's football squad thwart Moshannon Valley by a tally of 28-13.

The Cougars now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Juniata Valley for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1. North Star will play a Hornets squad coming off a 40-19 non-league win over Fairfield (Fairfield, PA). The Hornets record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Black Knights/Damsels play the Everett Warriors (Everett, PA) in a Inter-County - South contest, on Friday, September 1. Moshannon Valley will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 21-6 league win over West Branch (Morrisdale, PA).
