August 26, 2022: Marion, NC 28752 The McDowell Titans football team (Marion, NC), was beaten 34-16 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC)
The Mountaineers (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers come into the non-league challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Watauga achieved victory over Maiden (Maiden, NC), 23-19, in a non-league challenge.
The Titans now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Rutherford for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 2. McDowell will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 56-14 non-league loss to Tuscola (Waynesville, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 0-2.
