In Friday's league match, the host Erwin Warriors football squad scored a close 41-35 victory over the McDowell Titans.

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) in a 3A/4A West Conference 53 match, on Friday, October 28. Erwin will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Black Hawks enter the match with a 0-9 record after their 49-0 league loss to Asheville (Asheville, NC).

The Titans (5-4) will now prepare for their match against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Rockets enter the 3A/4A West Conference 53 match with a 8-1 record. In their last match, A.C. Reynolds held off T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC), 28-0, in a league test.
