In Friday's league match, the visiting McDowell Titans football squad scored a close 21-16 victory over the Enka Jets.

In their next game, the Titans clash with the Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) in a 3A/4A West Conference 53 match, on Friday, October 14. McDowell will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 5-2 record after their 28-21 league win over T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC).
