The Porter Cowboys football team (Brownsville, TX), was beaten 45-14 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX)

The Chargers (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX). The Wildcats come into the 5A-1 Region IV District 16 challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Weslaco East achieved victory over Donna (Donna, TX), 24-0, in a league challenge.

The Cowboys now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pace for a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 challenge on Friday, September 10. Porter will meet a Vikings team coming off a 41-14 league win over Lopez (Brownsville, TX). The Vikings record now stands at 1-1.
