The Laurel Spartans walloped the host Riverside Panthers football team by a score of 43-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans play the Bishop Canevin Crusaders (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 13. Laurel will attempt to improve on its 3-0 season record. The Crusaders come into the test with a 1-1 record after their 21-6 non-league win over Steel Valley (Munhall, PA).

With the defeat, Riverside drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host New Brighton (New Brighton, PA) to meet the Lions in a WPIAL AA Midwestern test on Friday, September 19. The Lions come into the test with a record of 3-0.
