The McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) volleyball tipped the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

With the win, McDowell upgrades its record to 7-1 on the year. The Titans host North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC) to play the Black Hawks in a The Mountain 3A/4A outing on Thursday, September 7. The Black Hawks go into the outing with a record of 1-8. North Buncombe lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC)
