In Saturday's non-league bout, the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) volleyball team held off the visiting Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX), by a margin of 2-1.

The Bulldogs now possess a 11-12 record. They play next when they travel to Marshall for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 6. Carthage will clash with a Mavericks team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Canton (Canton, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 17-6.
