September 6, 2025: Solon, IA 52333 Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Davenport Central Blue Devils (Davenport, IA), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Solon improves its record to 7-1 on the season. The Spartans host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 6-4. Mt. Vernon lost 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA)
The Blue Devils now own a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Davenport North for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. Davenport Central will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Johnston (Johnston, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-10.
