Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Valley Christian Trojans (Chandler, AZ) and the host Sunnyslope Vikings (Phoenix, AZ), observed Valley Christian's volleyball team hold off Sunnyslope by a count of 2-1.

The Trojans (8-3) will now prepare for their battle against Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, AZ). The Gators go into the non-league battle with a 5-0 record. In their last battle, Xavier College Prep tipped Deer Valley (Glendale, AZ), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Vikings now own a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Boulder Creek for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 9. Sunnyslope will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Westwood (Mesa, AZ). The Jaguars record now stands at 5-6.
