In Friday's league match, the host Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains football squad scored a good 27-14 victory over the Gibsonburg Golden Bears.

The Chieftains (4-0) will now prepare for their match against Lakota (Kansas, OH). The Raiders enter the Sandusky Bay - River match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Lakota was beaten by Calvert (Tiffin, OH), 28-0, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Golden Bears confront the Calvert Senecas (Tiffin, OH) in a Sandusky Bay - River match, on Friday, September 20. Gibsonburg will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Senecas enter the match with a 3-1 record after their 28-0 league win over Lakota (Kansas, OH).
