In Thursday's league contest, the First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) volleyball squad nudged the host Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Nighthawks battle the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes (Forest, VA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 17. First Flight will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record. The Tornadoes go into the contest with a 10-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Grace Christian (Staunton, VA).

With the loss, Holmes moves to 5-8 on the year. The Aces travel to Camden County (Camden, NC) to battle the Bruins in a Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A contest on Tuesday, September 20. The Bruins go into the contest with a record of 9-0. Camden County won 3-0 in their recent league contest against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC)
