Next, the Pirates meet the Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA) in a 2A Region 3 test, on Thursday, September 19. Appling County will attempt to upgrade on its 13-1 season record. The Bears go into the test with a 9-7 record after their 11-0 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA).
