Virginia High School Football - Gate City sneaks past Union

September 23, 2022: Gate City, VA 24251

The Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) football edged the visiting Union Bears (Appalachia, VA), 23-16 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Blue Devils face the Lebanon Pioneers (Lebanon, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 30. Gate City will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Pioneers enter the bout with a 3-2 record after their 42-7 non-league loss to Virginia High (Bristol, VA).

The Bears (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA). The Pioneers enter the non-league bout with a 1-4 record. In their last bout, Thomas Walker was nudged by Claiborne (New Tazewell, TN), 36-28, in a non-league bout.
