Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 3-1 in a league test.

With the win, Alexander Central improves its record to 5-8 on the season. The Cougars travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to face the Patriots in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, September 25. The Patriots go into the test with a record of 3-12. Freedom lost 3-0 in their recent league test against Watauga (Boone, NC)

The Panthers now own a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Caldwell for a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, September 25. Hibriten will face a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 9-6.
