In Wednesday's league challenge, the host South Caldwell Spartans volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Alexander Central Cougars.

The Spartans (9-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Foard (Newton, NC). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Foard was beaten by East Lincoln (Denver, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Monday, September 23. Alexander Central will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 3-0 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
