In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Foard Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Alexander Central Cougars.

The Tigers (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Red Tornadoes come into the Western Foothills 3A challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Hickory beat West Iredell (Statesville, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.
