Match Summary
Despite early bus drama, the Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars righted the ship and rained 29 aces upon the Magnolia Science Academy Van Nuys Mustangs in a 3 - 0 sweep at First Place Sports Complex in Chatsworth. In every set the Cougars had a closing kick to pull away for victory. It was the first time in over a week that Lake Balboa was at full strength. Athena Orujyan cracked off 11 aces. Maneh Parsadanyan threw in another 7, 8 kills, & 6 digs. Kennia Martinez Ayala snapped off 6 of her own. Darla Wiltz & Molly Yeagley put up the shields 7 & 6 digs respectively. Darla was also tough to beat passing yielding only a 7.7 RE %. After letting 2 earlier matches slip away, this team was snarly & determined to not let their opponent deny them any game or match point with a second, third or fourth chance. Recovering from a 24 RE disaster in our last match, the passing line controlled the game with 32 passes out of 38 total with only 4 reception errors for a 12.5% & a 2.37 average.
