Match Summary
After 2 hammer & tongs, knock down, drag 'em out battles in sets 1 &2, the Sun Valley Pioneers stepped on the gas & pulled away from the feisty Cougars to win in straight sets 3-0. Setter Maneh Parsadanyan put up double digit assists for the first time this year. Although the LBCP hitting was overall a paltry .037, 5 Ladies of the Lake managed to put up positive hitting stats with a cumulative 10-2-34 hitting line at .235. 22 quality passes helped us get 18 kills. The courage & heart of the passing line showed growth with 2 players flirting with the 2.5 mark: Co-Captain Athena Orujyan at 2.42 & Captain Darla Wiltz at 2.33. The middle passer always takes the heat & Darla dealt with 30 of the Pioneers 64 serves. She got some help on the wing with Orujyan putting up more than half of her touches as quality passes. This was the best stand by the shield maidens with both middle backs Wiltz & Molly Yeagley defending 13 & 16 digs each. The Cougar serving was positive with 12 aces to 8 errors.
