Game Summary
The Squires broke a school record winning their 8th game in a season with their victory over the Fairfield Knights. Delone pushed through tough conditions in the unrelenting rain and resulting soft field. The Squires were down one goal only a few minutes into the game but came back to tie it 1-1 by halftime with a throw-in from JP Groves #4 to the middle in front of the goal and a tap by Michael Carter #10 to Angello Salazar #7 who tapped it past the goalie and struck it with his left foot for the goal. The defense held the Knights scoreless in the second half. Delone continued to score off a turnover ball with Salazar making the game-winning goal from 30 yards out. Minutes later, Vlad Kojic #64 fed a ball down the right sideline to Dacosta Wivell #19 who dribbled and popped it over in front of the goal and Nolan Kruse #9 put it in to make the final score 3-1 over the Knights. Player of the Game: Angello Salazar #7 scored his 9th and 10th goals and 3rd GWG of the season.
