The Hudson Pirates were victorious over the host Columbus Sailors football team by a score of 16-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Union Knights (La Porte City, IA) in a 1A District 4 challenge, on Friday, October 3. Hudson will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 41-2 league loss to Jesup (Jesup, IA).

With the defeat, Columbus drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Sailors travel to Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA) to clash with the Cougars in a 1A District 4 outing on Friday, October 3. The Cougars come into the outing with a record of 1-4. Sumner-Fredericksburg lost 48-7 in their recent league outing against Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA)
