The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) and the visiting Pieper Warriors (San Antonio, TX), witnessed Smithson Valley's football squad knock off Pieper by a tally of 27-17.

The Rangers (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against Wagner (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the 5A-1 Region IV District 13 bout with a 2-3 record. In their last bout, Wagner overcame MacArthur (San Antonio, TX), 21-7, in a league bout.

The Warriors now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they host Seguin for a 5A-1 Region IV District 13 bout on Friday, October 10. Pieper will encounter a Matadors team coming off a 57-50 league loss to Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 3-2.
