Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) fans left the game content Thursday as they saw their football team rout the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 48-8 in a league test.

With the triumph, Alexander Central improves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Watauga (Boone, NC) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league test on Thursday, October 5. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 5-0. Watauga won 30-20 in their recent non-league test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

With the loss, Ashe County drops to 1-4 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to meet the Panthers in a non-league game on Thursday, October 5.
