The Central Catholic Vikings basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the host New Castle Hurricanes to 45 in the Vikings league victory on Tuesday.

The Vikings now sport a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Butler for a WPIAL 6A 1 contest on Friday, January 13. Central Catholic will battle a Golden Tornado team coming off a 63-50 league win over North Allegheny (Wexford, PA). The Golden Tornado record now stands at 11-2.

The Hurricanes (10-1) will now prepare for their contest against Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA). The Rams come into the WPIAL 6A 1 contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Pine-Richland prevailed over Seneca Valley (Harmony, PA), 59-58, in a league contest.
