The Independence Wildcats basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Senatobia Warriors to 47 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rosa Fort for a 3A Region 2 contest on Friday, January 13. Independence will battle a Lions team coming off a 70-62 league loss to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, MS). The Lions record now stands at 4-6.

The Warriors (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Greenwood (Greenwood, MS). The Bulldogs enter the 4A Region 3 contest with a 13-5 record. In their last contest, Greenwood was defeated by Yazoo City (Yazoo City, MS), 60-57, in a league contest.
