January 10, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87114 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), saw Volcano Vista's basketball squad hold off Highland by a tally of 62-58.
With the victory, Volcano Vista improves its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Hawks host Sandia (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Matadors in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 12. The Matadors come into the challenge with a record of 8-4. Sandia won 56-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Eldorado Golden Eagles (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 12. Highland will attempt to improve on its 10-3 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 56-47 non-league loss to Sandia (Albuquerque, NM).
