West Virginia High School Basketball - Mingo Central nudges Mountain Mission

January 10, 2024: Matewan, WV 25670

In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) basketball squad edged the visiting Mountain Mission Challengers (Grundy, VA), by a margin of 66-64.

The Miners (9-2) will now prepare for their outing against Summers County (Hinton, WV). The Bobcats go into the Coalfield AA outing with a 8-3 record. In their last outing, Summers County was tipped by Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV), 65-34, in a league outing.

The Challengers now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Martinsburg for a non-league outing on Friday, January 12. Mountain Mission will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 36-23 league win over Hedgesville (Hedgesville, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-1.
