January 10, 2025: Cumberland, MD 21502 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) and the host Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD), observed Mountain Ridge's basketball team overwhelm Bishop Walsh by a score of 86-13.
The Miners (1-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Allegany (Cumberland, MD). The Campers come into the Appalachian challenge with a 2-6 record. In their last challenge, Allegany was routed by Fort Hill (Cumberland, MD), 71-59, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Spartans battle the Southern Rams (Oakland, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Bishop Walsh will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 57-55 non-league win over Armstrong (Kittanning, PA).
