Maryland High School Basketball - Mountain Ridge can't hold off Southern

December 13, 2024: Oakland, MD 21550

Southern Rams (Oakland, MD) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD), 58-52 in a league match.

With the victory, Southern upgrades its record to 1-1 on the year. The Rams travel to Keyser (Keyser, WV) to face the Golden Tornado in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 17. The Golden Tornado enter the match with a record of 0-3. Keyser lost 51-38 in their recent non-league match against Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV)

The Miners now sport a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tucker County for a non-league match on Monday, December 16.
