Pennsylvania High School Basketball - New Brighton sneaks past Freedom Area
January 10, 2025: Freedom, PA 15042 The New Brighton Lions basketball team scored 44 points and limited the host Freedom Area Bulldogs to 39 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.
The Lions now possess a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Riverside for a WPIAL 3A 1 game on Tuesday, January 14. New Brighton will play a Panthers team coming off a 56-36 non-league loss to South Side (Hookstown, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 7-7.
With the loss, Freedom Area falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Mohawk Area (Bessemer, PA) to play the Warriors in a WPIAL 3A 1 game on Tuesday, January 14. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 10-2. Mohawk Area won 72-40 in their recent league game against Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA)
