The Newhalen Malamutes basketball team scored 30 points and limited the visiting Tanalian Lynx to 27 in the Malamutes non-league triumph on Friday.

The Malamutes now possess a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Birchwood Christian for a non-league game on Friday, January 10. Newhalen will confront a Warriors team coming off a 90-68 league loss to Cook Inlet Academy (Soldotna, AK). The Warriors record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Tanalian falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Lynx travel to Holy Rosary Academy (Anchorage, AK) to confront the Knights in a non-league game on Saturday, January 11.
