In Friday's league contest, the host North Schuylkill Spartans basketball team scored a good 61-45 win over the Tamaqua Blue Raiders.

The Spartans (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Panther Valley (Lansford, PA). The Panthers come into the Schuylkill County 1 battle with a 6-7 record. In their last battle, Panther Valley knocked off Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA), 52-10, in a non-league battle.
